1. List three shipping tropes you love
- Established relationship
- Happily ever after
- Setting AUs, including period pieces like Regency AUs, Modern with magic, or profession-based AUs written by someone who either does that job or researches amazingly. Things that let my characters live different lives but hit many of the same beats of their love story, especially if any of the canonical downers can be nicely sidestepped.
2. List three shipping tropes you don't love
- anything where the characters are in school, or act like they're in school or university. Unless they're canonically children, I don't want to read about them as children.
- betrayal, cheating, or other things that involve broken trust or deception
- Soulmate AUs; while I don't hate the concept, I've never seen a fic that actually sold me on it.
3. One emotional aspect of a ship that always gets you
Two: The sheer relief of seeing their loved one return from somewhere, especially if they're just out of danger; and, that look in their eyes when they watch their partner being good at or just really enjoying something, made happy by seeing them happy.
4. One physical aspect of a ship that always gets you
I like the gentle stuff: forehead kisses, curling up to sleep together, playfully staying in bed all morning.
5. Multiship or monoship?
Usually monoship, often because I tend not to be a very strong shipper and will default to canon ships if they're done well enough, and if not, I'll headcanon a ship and treat it the same way.
6. Rare pairs or mainstream?
Bit of both. I'll happily take canon ships if I like how it's been done, but I'll also enjoy less popular (in fandom) pairings if they hit the right vibe for me.
7. Polyamory or monogamy?
Monogamy; ships are hard enough with two complicated humans trying to make things work. Three is too much work >D
8. If the ship is physical, reversible or not?
No one seems to know what this means. Including me.
9. Do you always have romantic ships for fandoms?
It's about 50/50. I rarely ship hard, but I'll take what canon and fanon offer if it's enjoyable.
10. How important is the sexual part (if any) of your ship?
Not important; I'm ace enough to find a lot of smut uninteresting or even uncomfortable, and one of my current favourite fics just ignores sex completely, and it feels so much cosier for it.
11. Opinion on platonic ships?
As in friendships? I love seeing those even more than romantic ships, and romantic ships better have a good platonic foundation or I get bored.
12. List 3 ships you currently love
- Caleb/Essek from Critical Role Mighty Nein
13. List 5 OTPs from past fandoms
- Peggy Carter/Daniel Sousa from MCU's Agent Carter
- Jacob Frye/Ned Wynert from Assassin's Creed: Syndicate
- Dean/Castiel from Supernatural, but I've got so far off that fandom now that I don't even like rereading my own work.
14. Opinion on the importance of marriage?
Indifferent; if the characters themselves care about it, then go for it. If not, meh
15. Opinion on OC kids?
Please no.
